Coaching Philosophy:


Create a positive learning environment for my players, one that allows them to develop and reach their full potential with hard work and dedication. I emphasize building confidence, character, and problem solving to help with decision-making. I understand and implement the value of sportsmanship, respect, discipline, and honor on and off the field. I realize that as a coach I am also a mentor, role model, and leader for my players. As an instructor of the game, I love to teach but also learn, therefore every year I upgrade my coaching license and/or earn a new diploma/certificate and attend various events to further elevate my coaching knowledge.

Coaching Style:


My style of coaching is based on the 4 Pillars of Soccer: Physical, Psychological, Technical and Tactical and applying the proper emphasis on each area according to age group. I like to teach a possession style of play. However, I want my players to adapt to different situations during matches and have the ability to adjust as needed. Every game presents some form of adversity, so I emphasize Mental Toughness to overcome challenges and maintain composure. I strive for my players to be confident and bring out the best version of themselves. I want my players to be passionate and enjoy the “beautiful game.”


Personal Statement:


I am fortunate to be involved in the soccer coaching community as my way of making a living. I have and continue to work very hard to be where I am now. Along my journey I’ve had the opportunity to impact many lives. This truly motivates me to continue learning and improving. In addition to being a coach and scout I do Spanish color commentating as an extra for the Sacramento Republic FC on Fox40 TV. Indeed, I eat, sleep and breathe “fútbol”. After my family, soccer is my life. I am truly blessed and grateful.
